10+ million hectares burnt. 2,000 buildings destroyed. 27 lives taken. 1 billion animals perished. Australia has suffered inconceivable destruction from megafires the size of Manhattan, with flames taller than the Sydney Opera House. Yet what is burning brightest in the wake of this climate crisis, is the light of support across the world.

“The feeling of complete helplessness got too much for us here in LA, and we knew we needed to channel our energy into something bigger than ourselves. We’re stoked to see how the dance music community has been so supportive of this cause and we look forward to seeing our friends and family at Academy on January 29th,” said Aussie “Make It Rain” organizers Andie Leon (Academy LA), Lorne Padman (Dim Mak) and Tyson Illingworth (tyDi).
“Make It Rain” will include very special surprise guests throughout the evening in addition to a silent auction that will allow those in attendance to bid on highlight prizes.

As the year of 2019 is entering into its final stages, it seems that Ferry Corsten and Armada Music saved one of the year’s best announcements for last. Today, the Dutch Trance phenomenon and the Amsterdam, New York and London-based record label inked an exclusive agreement, putting their trust in each other for the (future) representation of Ferry Corsten’s Flashover Recordings as well as most of the imprint’s past releases, which includes a trove of beloved classics produced by Ferry Corsten under his System F and Gouryella aliases plus many more well established artists.
Maykel Piron, CEO Armada Music: “Over twenty years ago, Ferry and I started working together at an independent label. I was involved in releasing some of his biggest hits, such as ‘Out Of The Blue’ and Gouryella’s ‘Gouryella’. Continuing our working relationship after all those years feels like coming home, and I can’t wait to create future hits together in this new partnership. It’s a dream to be able to work on new Ferry Corsten material and it’ll be a blast reworking the classics that inspired me and helped me grow to where I am as a person today.”
Joeri Lodders, CEO Flashover Recordings: “We feel that partnering up with Armada will bring us the reach our artists need for future releases while working on our catalogue in a new and creative way. It’s exciting to see that Maykel’s past work with Ferry and myself finally comes together to reach new heights.”
Ferry Corsten: “I have been working on so many diverse music projects lately, and I strongly feel that through this new partnership we will maximize the creativity and capability of these plans moving forward. I always try to have new and established talent benefit from releasing their music on Flashover, so with Armada now as our partner, I believe this will open up new and exciting opportunities for these artists to develop their careers.”
Ferry Corsten’s lustrous career truly started with the release of ‘Out Of The Blue’, the sophomore artist album under his System F moniker. The eponymous single became a worldwide hit, charted in the Top 20 of the U.K. Singles chart and graced the Top 10 of Japan’s singles chart for three consecutive years, paving the way for a steady flow of releases (including ‘Gouryella’ with Tiësto) and remix work for U2, Moby, Faithless, The Killers, William Orbit, Duran Duran, Public Enemy, Nelly Furtado, and many others.
Fast-forward to today and it’s clear that there isn’t a lot Ferry Corsten hasn’t already achieved in the twenty years since. A regular in the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs poll, the Dutchman has eight full-length studio albums to his name, runs a globally syndicated radio show (Corsten’s Countdown) and continues to send fans into raptures through both his stadium-quivering DJ sets and System F live show, wherever in the world he ventures. Now entering into a new chapter with his label alongside Armada Music, Ferry Corsten once again proves that the possibilities are boundless.

World-famous DJ, Armin van Buuren, and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) are joining forces to motivate millions of people to join the movement to stop plastic waste being dumped in oceans. WWF is proud to announce that as Global Oceans Ambassador, Armin will contribute to the worldwide #BeatPlastic campaign.
Armin van Buuren says: “In between tours, I visited several WWF projects on Bali. There I could see with my own eyes how beautiful animals like turtles are affected by plastic pollution. These experiences opened my eyes and made me realize how much aid is needed. For years, I have been bringing people together through music. That’s my way of making the world a little better. Besides being a DJ and producer, I am also a father and I want to give my kids the world they deserve, a world that not only they can appreciate, but one that can be enjoyed by many generations to come.”
The DJ adds: “The WWF’s inspiring message of nature conservation appeals to me as a father, a person and a public figure. I’m proud to announce we are joining forces and that I can call myself a Global Oceans Ambassador.”
The top DJ and the nature organization intend the #BeatPlastic campaign to mobilize Armin’s millions of fans, followers and supporters to stop plastic pollution. Urgent action is needed because at present, 8 million tons of plastic are dumped in the oceans each year.

Eradicating disposable plastic
As WWF ambassador, Armin is going to be active on various fronts. One of his projects is to ask his fans to sign the WWF petition, which calls on world leaders to draft an international binding UN treaty, containing concrete steps to stop plastic pollution. Armin is also going to give the right example by making his A State of Trance events plastic-smart.
Marco Lambertini, Director General of WWF International is delighted with the news of Armin being named WWF Global Oceans Ambassador: "Our Oceans are in crisis, threatened by climate change and overfishing, but also plastic pollution, which is set to double by 2030. Addressing this requires a concerted approach involving business, government and the public. Together with leading personalities like Armin we can inspire millions of people around the globe to speak up to ensure that plastics never become waste.”

Soundslinger, the Founders of OMF, have partnered with globally renowned events company and North American festival leader Insomniac to bring the destination multi-genre music and camping event back to its picturesque home in Sunshine Grove March 5-8, 2020. GA and VIP ticket and camping packages will go on sale Friday, August 23 at 10am ET, and can be purchased at okeechobeefest.com. The announcement comes on the heels of Insomniac’s acquisition of iconic Miami club Space, and in advance of EDC Orlando’s first three-day event, taking place November 8-10, 2019, at Tinker Field.
“It’s official! I’m happy to announce that Insomniac will bring the Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival back to Sunshine Grove,” says Insomniac Founder & CEO Pasquale Rotella. “I’m a big fan of what Rechulski and the Okeechobee team have built, and honored to be able to lead such a unique event and continue the journey. This is one of the most beautiful locations I’ve ever set foot in. As someone who tries to always put culture first, I recognize how passionate this extraordinary community is, and I’m excited to bring this festival back and make it better than ever.”
The newly announced partnership between Insomniac Events and Soundslinger was cultivated from the values that each bestows, particularly, the commitment of creating fun, transformative and out-of-this-world experiences through music, immersive art and interactive experiences in the Florida community.
“It is an exceptional honor to have had the opportunity, luck, and responsibility of creating and caring for OMF,” says Rechulski, Soundslinger’s Founder. “I would like to thank my partners and the rest of the Soundslinger staff, the County and people of Okeechobee for welcoming us with open arms, all of our vendors and contractors, and most importantly all of the incredibly dedicated and colorful Okeechobeeings, our loyal fans.”
With three commercially successful editions held from 2016 – 2018, OMF has quickly become an important creative and cultural event for Southern Florida.
Rechulski further commented, “I am so excited once again to enter the portal alongside Pasquale Rotella and the Insomniac team. The best years are ahead of us, and I am certain that together we will continue our beautiful story for many more years to come with the same love, hard work, commitment, community engagement, and respect that have been the foundation of OMF.”
Taking place amongst 800 acres of lush grasslands, lakes, woods, and jungle in Sunshine Grove, Florida, OMF was met with rave reviews after its inaugural edition in 2016, with Billboard writing that “fans who came out…left feeling an immediate kinship with the brand.” The Huffington Post describing OMF as “next level unbelievably dope,” and Miami New Times called OMF “the top destination gathering of its type not only in South Florida but also in the state.” The festival’s eclectic lineups in past years have included world-renowned artists like Kendrick Lamar, Billie Eilish, Skrillex, Kings of Leon, Travis Scott, ODESZA, Usher & the Roots, Wiz Khalifa, Arcade Fire, Future, Bassnectar, the Flaming Lips, Khalid, and Robert Plant, among many others. Further setting itself apart from other multi-genre festivals, OMF’s signature PoWoW has been cherished by artists and attendees alike, and will be brought back for OMF 2020, showcasing once-in-a-lifetime artist collaborations. In previous years, OMF’s PoWoW has featured pairings like Miguel, Arcade Fire’s Win Butler, John Oates, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Mumford and Sons, as well as the Roots, Snoop Dogg, Chaka Khan and Big Gigantic’s Dominic Lalli, Trombone Shorty, and Cole Henry.
In addition to OMF’s three main stages—Be, Here and Now—dance music lovers will gravitate once again towards Jungle 51, a dusk till dawn dance party nestled in the heart of the jungle that has hosted some of the biggest names in house and techno in recent years. From dawn till dusk, OMF attendees will again be able to experience Aquachobee Beach, situated in the scenic background where Sunshine Grove’s jungle meets the white sand beach, that will give Okeechobeeings the chance to catch daytime live music sets while swimming and sunbathing.
OMF 2020 will kick-off an immersive lineup of interactive offerings on Thursday, March 5 during a nighttime pre-party. Each day, Chobeewobee Village will feature an eclectic mix of immersive art, food & beverage offerings, performances, yoga classes, life enhancing workshops, speakers, as well as its signature artisan vendors in a bazaar-style experience. With the release of their new album 'No Tourists', The Prodigy join the ranks of Paul McCartney and Elton John in achieving seven UK number 1's (no other electronic act has done this).
Listen to 'No Tourists' here and 'Timebomb Zone' (Conrank remix) here
The Prodigy have unveiled a remix of new single ‘Timebomb Zone’ from Conrank, which is available today. The band’s seventh straight number 1 album, ‘No Tourists’, is out now, with The Prodigy also concluding their massive UK & European headline tour this month.
‘Timebomb Zone’ is given a visceral rework from Conrank today, the UK-born (via LA and Shanghai) DJ and producer who has emerged as one of bass music’s most innovative voices. In a rare opportunity The Prodigy also recently released the separated musical elements of ‘Timebomb Zone’ for fans to download and remix themselves (all details via https://TheProdigy.lnk.to/TZRMXPR).
‘Timebomb Zone’ is a striking highlight from ‘No Tourists’, an album which sees The Prodigy join the ranks of Paul McCartney and Elton John in achieving seven UK number 1s (no other electronic act has done this). Here is a group who from day one dominated the illegal rave scene, challenged anti-rave legislation and redefined the whole idea of what a band should be like. They brought UK electronic music to the US heartland, turning metal kids onto raving and ravers into metalheads…effectively reaching global audiences without compromise: see 7 number 1 albums, 30 million record sales, and multiple honours (two Brits, two Kerrang! awards, five MTV awards, two Grammy nominations). And with the success of ‘No Tourists’, The Prodigy are clearly doing what they and only they do best.
The urgency of ‘No Tourists’ arguably appears to have tapped into (says Howlett) a wider need for escapism. ‘It’s about the want and need to be derailed and not to follow that easy set path. In these times we live in people have become lazier and forgotten how to explore. Too many people are allowing themselves to be force fed, with whatever that may be. ‘No Tourists’ is about reaching out further to find another alternative route where the danger and excitement may be to feel more alive… not accepting that you can just be a tourist. That’s what the title is about for us.”
Closing an incredible 2018, ‘No Tourists’ has seen The Prodigy return with venom in the way that only they can. They’re renegades, outsiders, outlaws – always hiding in plain sight. Though much has changed in the musical and social landscape, what remains a constant – as well as their unbeaten streak of number 1 albums - is The Prodigy’s resolute focus to always do things their own unique way. The remarkable success of ‘No Tourists’ suggests that in 2018, the urgency and irrepressible spirit of The Prodigy has also never been more needed.
‘No Tourists’ is available digitally, on CD, cassette, and heavyweight double vinyl.

Above & Beyond and Spencer Brown feat. RBBTS “Long Way From Home”
Stream here / Watch the video here
Above & Beyond’s first original collaboration single since 2010 (for those playing at home, that was ‘Anphonic’ with Kyau & Albert) sees the production powerhouse of Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness and Paavo Siljamäki link up with prolific San Franciscan, Spencer Brown.
‘Long Way From Home’ featuring the vocals of RBBTS (Anne Kalstrup & Hendrik Burkhard) is a gentle, melancholic wave of undulating melodies, underpinned by the quartet’s rounded, dancefloor-ready sound. Debuted at Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy 300 celebrations in Hong Kong, the song considers the experience of loneliness that besets many touring artists. Aptly, the first sketch of the track was laid down by Paavo and Spencer in a Melbourne hotel room - a very, very long way from home.
Says Paavo, “Both Spencer and myself know all too well what it's like being a touring musician.
Filled with totally amazing, high moments, but also lonely moments in hotel rooms far away from home. We'd both been travelling for hours feeling somewhat lost and lonely and ended up spending the day together talking about it all. We found ourselves making a song about it all in a makeshift hotel room studio.”
Spencer Brown has just finished a world tour with Above & Beyond, playing direct support to crowds across North America, Australasia and Europe. A star on the rise, Spencer is already a mainstay on Above & Beyond’s Anjunabeats imprint. The prolific 24 year old released his debut artist album, ‘Illusion Of Perfection’, on the label earlier this year.
Says Spencer, “ “Dream on little dreamer." A message that rung in my head after seeing Above & Beyond, as a fan, in 2014. After signing my music with Anjunabeats in 2016, our musical and personal relationship deepened. We’ve toured the world together. Now, we’ve penned this song - drawing deep from our hearts - about the crazy lives we lead.”
Road-tested and fine-tuned in front of sell-out crowds across Europe, ‘Long Way From Home’ feat. RBBTS is an early Christmas treat for Above & Beyond and Spencer Brown fans. Fans need not wait long for more. Both artists have packed schedules for the remainder of the year.
So, the wild ride continues. Thankfully, where there’s good friends and good music, you’re never that far from home.

ARMADA UNIVERSITY EXPANDS INTO FULL-SCALE MUSIC PRODUCTION COMMUNITY AND GIVES STUDENTS THE CHANCE TO WIN A RELEASE ON ARMADA MUSIC
ORJAN NILSEN’S COURSE-DRIVEN ‘FINISH MY RECORD’ CONTEST IS UP AND RUNNING
Not even a year has passed since Armada University first popped up on the radar with its in-depth productions courses in partnership with FaderPro, but it has already expanded into something even more valuable to all those budding producers. Today, Armada University has supercharged its operation by adding in additional tools for all those aspiring dance music stars, ranging from even more courses and free studio tips from esteemed dance music producers to exciting contests, music production blogs, exclusive discounts and guaranteed demo feedback for Armada University students after each course purchase. Anyone who wishes to learn more about music production can subscribe for free at university.armadamusic.com.
In tandem with this expansion, Armada University also launched a brand-new course from Norwegian electronic music star Ørjan Nilsen. His ‘Finish My Record’ course is directly tied to Armada University’s new contest, which not only gives the talents of today invaluable information via the course itself, but also gives them the chance to put their skill to the test and potentially see their edit released on Armada Music in collaboration with Ørjan Nilsen. Pre-save the new Ørjan Nilsens - Savour This Moment here.
At this time, Armada University offers courses from big artists such as Canadian Grammy nominees Sultan + Shepard, House icon Harry Romero, dance music phenomenon Thomas Gold and ‘Hipcats’ producers ATFC & David Penn, all in partnership with FaderPro. Additionally, courses with the likes of GoldFish, Estiva, Rodg, Dave Winnel and more are currently under development. In only two weeks since its expansion, over two thousand producers have joined Armada University, seizing the opportunity to learn, improve and become the best.
