For his first release of the new decade, Born Dirty makes his highly anticipated return to Insomniac Records with a double-sided single, ‘Alpha Omega / In the Shadows.’
He last appeared on Insomniac Records in 2018 with “Crazy,” an earworm of a breaks-tinged tune that marked his debut single for the imprint. He’s come a long way since then, and we are excited to welcome back the French groove specialist as he heads out into 2020 with a stunning two-tracker.
Opening up the package is “Alpha Omega,” which shows him using perfectly timed pan percussive hits, hip-shaking rhythms, mesmerizing melodies and a hook that calls back to the track’s title. On the flip is “In the Shadows,” a deep and atmospheric cut, powered by low-slung basslines, swinging drums, cosmic textures and a brooding vocal that lurks in the darkness.
Born Dirty is coming off of a tireless 2019, which saw him taking his head-turning talents to imprints from the likes of Mad Decent, Sweat It Out, his own Way Way Records, and the recently launched Higher Ground by way of one spicy collab “Samba Sujo,” alongside the label-boss Diplo. His fresh and flavorful approach to house music has allowed his tunes to find their way into the hands of tastemakers from across the board, with support pouring in from tastemakers like Tchami, Will Clarke, Walker & Royce, Anna Lunoe, and more as the list continues to grow. His tour schedule was filled with key performances that took him to flagship festivals, such as EDC Las Vegas, HARD Summer, and Electric Forest—as well as a sold-out headlining club gig in January at Night Trip at Academy L.A.
