Tyler The Creator may have been pretty cagey about concealing the release date of his new album, Igor, but the announcement for the dates of this Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival was pretty straightforward
Tyler, the Creator is throwing his eighth annual Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival music festival on November 9th & 10th, as it returns to LA’s Dodger Stadium grounds, “with all of the Carnival’s festivities set to take place in the areas outside of the ballpark itself.” Ticket presale begins Friday, May 10th at 12pm PDT, and while the lineup hasn’t been announced yet, we can probably assume it’s going to be pretty good. Stay tuned for more info.
A limited amount of tickets will go on presale on Friday, May 10th at 12pm PDT, with the option of a payment plan. The general admission price for the eighth iteration of the popular and growing festival is $235 plus fees, though hardcore Tyler fans may want to purchase the Super VIP package, which not only includes dedicated entry and viewing but also a merch package including a Fender Player Series Stratocaster. The presale option will also allow fans to break up their admission cost into four equal payments.
Last year’s 2018 lineup had Kids See Ghost, Post Malone, Earl Sweatshirt, Jorja Smith, Pusha T, Majid Jordan, A$AP Rocky, & more.GIVEAWAY: Which artists do YOU want to see make the 2019 Camp Flog Gnaw Lineup? Comment below to win two tickets

Hot off his last release ‘Alive’, Berliner DJ/Producer, liquidfive, is back this time with his fellow DJ/Producer, DJ Luane, to bring you this instant summer vibe classic. ‘Young’ captures all the youthful energy that is vibrantly found throughout the summertime. When you just want to pick up things and go on a road trip with absolutely no destination in mind until you come across it. Martin Sola provides the vocals that takes this track to another incredible level. The three collaborators have curated a radio hit that will sure abuse the repeat button over time.
Martin Maximilian Kotzur, also known under his stage moniker, liquidfive, is one of those hidden gems you probably haven’t heard about. His songs have made it across German Dance Charts and his singles ‘Sweater Weather’, ‘Freedom’ and ‘Depth of Your Love’ have won over the support of trance and EDM legend Sander van Doorn. After meeting producer/songwriter, Jaxon Bellina, in 2012, liquidfive has made great stride as a prolific EDM DJ/producer.

Back at it again with their latest single, ‘Somewhere’, is the Spanish duo, SandJake. The hip-swaying feel good single is a stand out release that demonstrates the duo’s versatility as producers. We haven’t heard anything quite ethereal as this track is from the duo yet, and it’s quite refreshing. The duo incorporates a sultry female vocalist that just takes the tune to another sensational level.
Sandake is a duo formed by Jacobo and Sandro, two young people from Madrid who love to travel, play sports and promote a healthy lifestyle. However, if there is something that defines them above all is the deep passion for music that they share with a special predilection for the Electro House and EDM genres. Even without having reached the quarter of a century, this artistic duo has already positioned itself within the electronic industry as high-quality producers with future releases scheduled on international labels of the first line. But not only stand out in the field of production, SandJake have also started their journey as DJs and will soon announce their confirmed performances in some of the major festivals and clubs in Spain.

Legal trouble in the music world is around once again.
In a time where music has been around for a while and artists sample from each other, it is not uncommon to hear remixes that we have heard similarly before. Everyone once in a while though, two songs are too close for comfort-meaning a lawsuit for copyright infringement is born.
This time around, producer and DJ Arty is suing Marshmello. The lawsuit is over Marshmello allegedly stealing elements from Arty’s remix of “I Lived” by One Republic for his song “Happier” with Bastille. The lawsuit also names Steve Mac- the co-founder of Bastille- and Daniel Campbell Smith-both co-writers of the song.
The lawsuit was filed in federal court in California and focuses on the remixed elements of the song. It alleges that the beats and other components that are in Arty’s remix of “I Lived” were copied. The suit alleges that because Arty and Marshmello are in the same EDM circles (they even have the same music publisher, Kobalt Music-who was also named as a defendant in the lawsuit), Marshmello could have been made aware of the song because of how frequently cross paths.
Arty is being represented by Richard Busch, a copyright attorney who is extremely well known for winning big cases, such as the Marvin Gaye vs. Pharrell Williams and Robin Thicke over “Blurred Lines.” Busch states that there is a compelling musical transcription comparing the two works in the suit, and Arty is suing for damages and for an accounting of all revenue generated by “Happier” to see how much he is entitled too.
Take a listen below, and let us know your thoughts on their similarities.

The EP starts off with a tune for the lovers “Hold You Tight,” laden with a funky bassline and some really pretty plucks to compliment the vocals he included in the song. His collab with Blond:ish “Give Dem” is all sorts of sexy, with Kah-Lo providing poetic words to the track. Tove Lo has some vocal contributions too, making the third track “Win Win” sound even more heavenly than the mysterious bassline and resonant synths do. Saving the wildest track for last, Diplo unleashes tribal sounds and prime energy with “Bubble Up.” All in all, there’s a shade of house for every fan of Diplo’s wide array of musical stylings…yes, even the ones who had to google him after he showed up with Billy Ray Cyrus at Stagecoach.

Touching down with another trademark slice of accessible electronica, CALVO delivers an infectious rendition of the classic Mario single ‘Let Me Love You’ – a song originally penned by Ne-Yo & produced by the world renowned Scott Storch.
Already known for a number of revered remixes for the likes of Robin Schulz, Sigala, Sam Feldt, Deepend, Nervo, Showtek and Freischwimmer. CALVO is also lighting up on the streaming front – regularly clocking up in excess of 1.5 million monthly listeners across Spotify.
With its ingratiating synths, vocal delivery & driving rhythm – CALVO’s re-work of ‘Let Me Love You’ has the markings of a firm dance floor favourite & in addition to the melodic remix from DAZZ, CALVO also drops a VIP re-rub – with electro vibes at the forefront.
Pop stars and mainstream artists fill a certain niche that is easily overplayed. Whether its the bling’d out rap culture, where most of it has lost its way in terms of the true message of the music, or pop artists that seems to sing about the same theme of young summer love and partying like the night is never going to end; it’s hard to find an artist that has real, resonating message. That is, until we heard what Wengie had in store with her latest release ‘Mr. Nice Guy’. Lyrically, you’ll find a girl who finds her own real world Mr. Nice Guy, and guess what it actually all turns out the way you’d want it to. Wengie has enlisted Pinoy pop superstar, Iñigo Pascual, to feature a verse in Tagalog. Here are a few words from Wengie on ‘Mr. Nice Guy’:
“In a culture where bad boys get a lot of attention, this song is refreshing about a girl finding her Mr. Nice Guy and not having to worry about being hurt and feeling safe. I loved working with Iñigo and he was perfect for this as I wanted to create something that was really me and one that I know the fans will resonate with and enjoy!” – Wengie
The ‘Mr. Nice Guy’ single comes in several versions: an English and Tagalog version, but also features a heavy-hitting trap remix from Shawn Wasabi. If you haven’t already heard of the name, he’s responsible for infamous mashups on his Midi Fighter 64, one in particular ‘Marble Soda’ clocks in at over 27 million views on YouTube and mashes up 117 songs in 2:49 minutes. Shawn Wasabi provides a darker rendition to ‘Mr. Nice Guy’ giving a more ‘gangster’ vibe.

In the first couple years of EDCLV, the circuitGROUNDS served as the main destination for big trance acts like Ferry Corsten and Aly & Fila, even going so far as to host Above & Beyond’s pre-ABGT radio Group Therapy stage and Armin Van Buuren’s ASOT 550 stage. With the rise of several styles of trance coming into the states, the Trance Movement got its own stage, the QuantumVALLEY, a few years later. Today, a piece of news leaked that marked a big milestone in the stage’s legacy. Insomniac Events themselves hopped on Reddit to respond to a fan’s question about this year’s Trance stage setup, and they used they have to know is a buzzword:
They most likely alluded to a megastructure, the same kind we’ve seen at festivals around the world. Trance is perfect for a Megastructure environment, and while the other flavors of Dance music have 360 experiences, very little can rival the classic arch, especially when EDC’s classic OG setups in 2011 and 2012 hosted Trance for so long.
Stay tuned for our coverage of the festival on Instagram where we reveal this and every other stage when we drop down on the venue in a couple of weeks.

Tiësto couldn’t resist the urge to take Billie Ellish’s new single Bad Guy, slow it to 128BPM, and add a few extra shots of energy for the dance floor. The world-famous producer’s spin on the anthem isn’t the high flying synth and sub-heavy kick drum anthem you’d expect; as a matter of fact, slowing down the melody may be the most dramatic thing he did to the song. By adding drums that compliment the original vibe with style, the “big room” adaptation gives the original some choice airtime at festivals. For a spontaneous remix, it sure slaps. Check the full track below via Soundcloud.

Psychedelic alternative rock band Saint Mars is back with another new single ahead of their forthcoming album ‘Boys Don’t Cry’. Their latest single is entitled ‘Loveghost’ featuring Alonestar and Tryzdin. The band has recently been on an anti-bullying campaign and have had several of their releases showcased as part of the national movement in the Swiss short film, Réagissons. Loveghost is yet another standout track that showcases the bands versatility and showcases a sound similar to Panic! at the Disco and Massive Attack.
You’ll find in the music video for ‘Loveghost’ a theme similar to Stranger Things if the band had produced it themselves. Cedric Aegerter (a.k.a. Marc Darcange or M.D.), the bands founder is strapped in restraints as he is operated and some sort of testing is done on him.
Currently, Saint Mars album has been in the works for a little over a year and a half. The band will start a string of their first live performances towards the second half of 2019 and we’re sure their album will follow soon.
For now, check out ‘Loveghost’ down below!

It is a 5-track EP produced and sang by Calvert with help from Jonathan Mendelsohn, Jamey Ray, Alex Psaroudakis and Pablo St Martin. Hitting the airwaves just in time for summer comes ‘Young Love’. Produced by Californian producer, J-Rob MD, the new release will kick off your need for all summer activities. Blast this new release on your way to the beach or any road trip to keep your spirits up and the vibes alive. ‘Young Love’ also features singer and songwriter, Jared Mitchell, who delivers an impeccable addition to an already great production.
Check out our interview with J-Rob MD and ‘Young Love’ down below!GDE: Welcome, J-Rob MD! How has this year been going for you? So far this year is going great. Tons of great new music on the way. I’ve been living in the studio and really excited about some of these songs. I always try to keep my songs radio and dance floor friendly, but deliver something a little new and unique. I’m also working in a few different genres of dance music so that’s been fun as well. GDE: Congratulations on your new track ‘Young Love’. How did you come to collaborate with Lenny B? Lenny and I were working with a mutual artist on a pop music project. We started talking and getting to know each other and realized we have a lot in common as writers and producers. He’s an incredible guy and an incredible talent. He’s done official remixes for artists like Madonna and Britney spears so he definitely knows his stuff! GDE: How long was the single in the works? I actually wrote this song years ago but wanted to make some changes. I only did a rough demo on it before. But sometimes as time passes, a song speaks to you in different ways, both as a writer and as a producer. Lenny B and I worked together to breathe new life into this one and we are really happy with how it turned out. GDE: Did you get to spend some physical studio time with Lenny? Lenny and I have spent time together in the studio, but we worked remotely on this one. Currently I am living near Los Angeles, and he is based out of Nashville. GDE: Jared Mitchell delivers a strong vocal, have you worked with him previously? Yes I have worked with Jared for years. He has such a big powerful voice and is so professional and great to work with. Guys like Jared are hard to find. Just so much talent. Everything he touches always gets taken to another level and I am always excited to have him on my songs. GDE: What’s the music scene like in the U.S right now? Music in the U.S. right now is very tough. It’s tough to make money. People struggle because the checks are just always shrinking. I have a lot of my music in TV shows and Films which really helps. But at the same time, the good news is that dance music in the US is bigger than ever… just look at the Coachella line-up from this year. All different corners of the dance music universe are covered. So that’s great. I think as things in this world get more and more crazy, people want music that helps them feel good, and frees their minds for a few hours. GDE: Aside from what you produce, what’s another genre of electronic music that you’re a big fan of? I love deep-house and tech-house. So does my wife… that’s her thing. So we love seeing house music live, and just dancing, having fun, and letting loose. I also love incorporating a lot of that into my live sets. Sometimes people are surprised because they think my sets will be more pop, but you can always count on some great house music in there. GDE: And finally, what’s next for J-Rob MD across 2019? I’ve got some great new dance pop in the vein of what people can expect from me. But I also have some house music coming out this year as well. I have a great tech-house track coming out on Roller Blaster Records at the end of the summer called “Chemical Attraction.” I’ve also been collaborating with esteemed producer/DJ Ken Bauer on some fantastic new music that should be dropping this summer as well. So all in all it’s going to be a busy year, but a great year, and I am really looking forward to it!
Hakkasan is getting ready for Las Vegas’ biggest Dance music weekend in a special way- by replacing their huge logo on the ceiling with an incredible modular lighting experience. The MGM’s hallmark nightclub has employed the use of an enormous moving grid, comprised of not one, but 57 attached triangles. It wouldn’t be a new structure without a world record being set; the fixture is the biggest of its kind in the US.
According to a press release, the Grid was custom-built by Germany company WhiteVoid, and is the largest permanent kinetic light installation in the United States. The 30-foot sculpture is constructed from 57 3D printed triangles standing at four-feet each. The centerpiece will transform and change color with the music in real-time, thanks to pixel-mapping and color-mixing technology controlled by Hakkasan proprietary software.
“The nightlife industry requires constant evolution and excellence, and we pride ourselves on consistently rising to this challenge and providing our guests with unforgettable, transformative experiences,” Hakkasan Group’s executive vice president of entertainment James Algate is quoted in the press release. “We’re thrilled to yet again push the boundaries of nightlife with the new Hakkasan Grid. We’re confident that guests will be blown away by this futuristic, multisensory experience we’ve created.”
Check out more info on the structure at Hakkasan’s website and be sure to check it out on Wednesday or Thursday before EDC or during if you’re not attending all three nights of the festival.HAKKASAN NIGHTCLUB EDC WEEK 2019 SCHEDULE:

When we launched Holy Ship it was the first of its kind. We’ve seen what works and what doesn’t and we’ve applied that knowledge to bring you something new. We all know the boat is magic – and we’re not ruling out returning to the high seas down the road. In the meantime, we know that Holy Ship! Wrecked will give you everything the boat did and so much more. After all, our time on the island was never enough and you won’t know how much you love something until you experience it for yourself …
We may be shipwrecked, but this new venue is sure to blow your mind. Let’s spread the Shipfam spirit and show them how to party on land in 2020!

Rolling Loud continues to make noise in California. This Winter, they’re touching back down in SoCal for the third year on December 15 and 16 as they present Rolling Loud Los Angeles 2019. As the largest Hip-Hop affair in the world, they’ve had the privilege of hosting Future, Lil Wayne, Post Malone, Schoolboy Q, Juicy J, and Kendrick Lamar among others. While the lineup announcement for this year is still looming, we have high hopes for this year’s spectacular…especially because this time, around, they confirmed that they’re opening up the soccer field inside the Banc of California Stadium.
Rolling Loud’s beginnings in Miami were anything but humble. Kicking off with such a bang that condo owners are actively petitioning to shut them down, the festival grew dramatically in praise among the Hip-Hop community. This year, the promoters behind it announced they’re returning to California; in addition to the Bay Area fest at the Oakland Coliseum Grounds on September 28th – 29th, us folks in SoCal will be treated to our own leg of the festival as this year Rolling Loud Los Angeles 2019 will take place in Downtown Los Angeles on December 14th & 15th. Rolling Loud Los Angeles 2019 will be happening at the brand new Banc of California Stadium Grounds right next to the LA Coliseum. Rolling Loud LA is bringing some incredible talent back to SoCal from OG artists to the new school. So you better be ready to go hard than a motherfucker this December.
