Fisher, Claude VonStroke, Solardo, Shiba San and the like have developed a sound that has become synonymous with house. Between their rhythms and choice of synth and bass, when you hear their music, you’re sure to move. There’s no ifs, ands, or buts about it. In that same vein, AMMO is debuting his new song “I Like It Alot” with another debut artist, Sir Bloke.
Full of attitude and an easy rhythm to simply fall into and let your hips sway, “I Like It Alot” is a surefire end-of-summer hit, perfect for letting your nights wind down or pushing them into full swing.
AMMO is one of the most in-demand pop producers, so it stands to reason that his debut outing in the electronic world would aim to capture that spirit of pop versus house. Check out “I Like It Alot” below, out now via Thrive Music/Absurd Noize.

Australian producer and DJ Wax Motif just hit a huge milestone in his career with the release of his newest song, “Divided Souls.” Apart from just putting out a banger, he’s also launching his new label of the same name as well as collaborating with Sean “Diddy” Combs, pka P Diddy.
“Divided Souls” is a pure dancefloor banger with a four-on-the-floor attitude, vocal feature, and plenty of bass. It’s a bit of a shame that Diddy’s voice doesn’t come through as much as it should, modulated and reverbed to the extent that it is. But his attitude comes through in his prosody well enough and gives the track that extra bit of edge.
“It’s a huge honor to be able to debut my label with a release from myself and Diddy,” explains Wax Motif. “Diddy is legendary to me – I probably watched the ‘Bad Boys for Life’ and ‘Mo Money Mo Problems’ videos a million times growing up. I feel the whole message behind the ‘Divided Souls’ lyrics resonates with me and the dance music scene. The line where Diddy mentions ‘divided souls’ really stuck out to me and I couldn’t get the phrase out of my head, so I decided to call the track and the label by the same name. I’m excited to debut my label and to share a vision for myself and for new artists.”
Check out “Divided Souls” below and keep a look out for more coming from Wax’s label soon!

Your EDM debuted Young Goats last month with their first album, Goat Life vol. 1 and we’re loving their pop-infused crossover style. The album folds in elements of house music and EDM, reggaeton, UK grime and Bone Thugs-style hip hop with an extremely high level of production. Those who haven’t heard it yet should definitely listen asap. They’ve now released a video to go with the album for the single “Take You With Me”.
Though Young Goats are based in LA now, their first video since the album’s release goes back to their roots in Miami. Goat Life vol. 1 contains a ton of different styles with great EDM fusion that makes it ravey, hip hop, latin and funky all at once. “Take You With Me” is one of the more smoothed down tracks from the duo’s debut long play.
The video showcases the fast-paced, high-flying lifestyle of Miami with lots of fast cars, water sports and money. It works to show, in visual form, Young Goats’ mastery of style-blending. While visually exciting, the video is smoothed out and seems more accessible than the average money/lifestyle hip hop video. “Take You With Me” is, after all, a love song. The video is a love song to Miami as well as the actual song’s hypothetical subject.
On Goat Life vol. 1, there’s something musically for everyone and “Take You With Me” exemplifies the mixing styles beautifully in one song with the help of its video. As more videos come from the massive album, the Goats are likely to bring in more and more of their diverse potential audience.

Facebook Anniversary Badges Introduced After Success Of Top Fans
Facebook has been slowly adding user badges across its platform, beginning with Top Fan badges late last year. Since then, mostly in groups, the social media platform has added badges for New Member, Rising Star, Conversation Starter, Link Curator, Founding Member, Admin and Moderator, and more.
Pages have been limited to Top Fan badges … until now. Facebook has launched the Anniversary Follower badge which will let others see how many years you’ve been following any page. It appears above your name in the comments as a Top Fan badge would, and reads “Anniversary Follower” with a number to the left denoting how many years you’ve been following.
Not only is this a great way for brands and pages to recognize their most loyal and long-lasting followers (and perhaps reward them), it will also surely spark some debate in the comments about how much of a fan someone is compared to another.
You don’t have to do anything to enable the Facebook anniversary badges. It’s being rolled out to Facebook users right now; if you don’t see it yet, be patient and you’ll see it soon enough. See examples below.

After three albums, it’s hard to believe that Illenium has only just received his first #1 on the Billboard Top Dance/Electronic Albums Chart, but here we are. Ascend will have been out for two weeks as of tomorrow, and this week’s chart shows his album at #1 ahead of Marshmello, DJ Snake, and The Chainsmokers.
While it’s hard to believe that this is Illenium’s first #1, it’s not hard at all to believe that it’s this album that finally hit that mark. Counting on collaborations with Jon Bellion, Georgia Ku, Bahari, X Ambassadors, Bipolar Sunshine, The Chainsmokers and more to propel him up the charts, it’s no wonder.
Even taking the collaborations out of the equation, the album is still a brilliant fusion of Illenium’s classic style and a more pop edge that he’s been adopting as of late.
Both Ashes and Awake hit the top 10, but this is a new era for Illenium. Listen to Ascend again below, and read our review here.

Seven Lions and Wooli came out with “Island” with Trivecta earlier this year. Both of them have put out remixes for Excision. Now, Excision, Seven Lions, and Wooli are all teaming up together with the help of Dylan Matthew to release “Another Me” tomorrow.
This comes in a string of collaborations for Seven Lions, including Kill The Noise, Slander & Dabin, Mitis, Above & Beyond, and more. As for Excision and Wooli, they have their own collaboration, working title “Lockdown,” out sometime soon on a collaborative EP.
As for Dylan Matthew, his established track record with Seven Lions, SLANDER, Rome in Silver, Kayzo and more already speaks for itself. His contribution on “Another Me” is undoubtedly what takes the single to the next level in terms of raw power.
“Another Me” is out tomorrow on Seven Lions’ own Ophelia Records. Keep an eye out!

Spotify recently increased its free trial period to three months for new subscribers, but Apple Music wasn’t about to let the streaming platform get the upper hand. In the ongoing battle between the two services, Apple just one-upped Spotify by partnering with the LivingSocial app to offer a limited number of 4-month free trials for Apple Music.
A streaming app is a streaming app is a streaming app at the end of the day. The differences come in UI, song availability, and curation. Between Apple and Spotify, you can get pretty much any feature you want, but the choice between them is a personal one.
“We know it takes time to fully experience all of the features available with Premium,” Spotify Chief Business Officer Alex Norström recently said, “so we’re giving people the time that they need to fall in love with Premium’s seamless listening experience and on-demand access to more than 50 million tracks, billions of playlists and 450,000 podcast titles for free.”
Though Apple’s free trial extension appears to be for only a limited time at this point, it could become the new standard if it aims to stay ahead of its competitors. Of course, there’s an upper limit to just how long you can give users a free trial before you end up giving the app away for free itself.
According to Digital Music News, only around 25,000 offers have been redeemed for the Apple Music trial.

Excision wrapped up the second annual Bass Canyon at the Gorge this past weekend, and what a show it was. The northwest festival has become much more than just a precursor to Lost Lands, sporting three days and camping and its own stellar lineup. To end the festival this year, Excision sported a Spotlight B2B with a group of rising stars including Chime, Jantsen, Jessica Audifred, Ubur, and more.
Among the group was YOOKiE who just uploaded their 10-minute section in the mix and it is just slam packed with ID after ID after ID. It’s not exactly out of the norm for the duo, but the density of the mix and the setting definitely make for a more intense listening experience.

2019 has been a phenomenal year for Skrillex fans. He’s been touring more, he has a residency in Vegas where you can be sure to see him at KAOS, and he’s been pumping out tons of music like his collaboration with TroyBoi “WARLORDZ” and his recent Show Tracks EP. Now, he’s back with “Midnight Hour” with Boys Noise & Ty Dolla $ign.
Despite putting out the track with his Dog Blood collaborator Boys Noize, this is not a Dog Blood track. In fact, the press for the new song calls it his first official single since 2017, “Would You Ever.”
“Midnight Hour” is a bouncy club track with lots of flavor and personality, leaning heavily on Ty Dolla’s vocals and the chopped up chorus. It’s hardly a bass tune like either of the new ones on Show Tracks, but it still has a recognizable Skrillex touch. A few of the sounds — e.g., the ending lasers, and some drums — have apparently been edited since the leaked version appeared on Beatport last week.
Stylistically, it bears a lot of resemblance to his last “official single,” “Would You Ever.” Does that mean there’s something deeper at work here, or he just flexing his creative muscles again? There’s no indication that the two are part of any larger release… yet. But we’re not going to stop anyone from speculating either way.

DJ Snake might’ve only put out his sophomore album Carte Blanche just a month ago, but he’s already back as a feature on one of his favorite collaborator’s tracks, GASHI. The two have previously teamed up on Snake’s “4 Life” from his debut album Encore and on “Paris” from Carte Blanche; Snake has also previously produced for GASHI on his track “Creep On Me” last year.
The two now team up again for “Safety.”
Production on the single is a more toned-down version of Snake’s signature dancehall vibes, while GASHI layers it with a silky smooth vocal. Check it out below.

Marshmello and Kane Brown are taking their production up a notch!
For the highly anticipated live performance of their new single, “One Thing Right,” the two will take on Good Morning America with a special virtual reality experience. The first-of-its-kind immersive VR show will undoubtedly be one of the most exciting things ever witnessed on GMA.
EDM is all about thinking outside the box, especially with unique collaborative combos such as this one. With virtual reality backing Marshmello and Kane Brown’s new song, this already massive hit is destined to make even bigger waves.
Marshmello said: “Stoked that fans all over the world can experience our GMA performance live in virtual reality. I can’t wait for crowds in the park, on TV and at home in VR to come together for this — It’s gonna be sick!”
Brown added: “It is really cool to be a part of something like this that’s never been done before. I can’t wait to hit the stage with Marshmello to play our new song for the first time, and for fans at home to be able to experience this performance in a whole new way.”
The performance on August 30th will be accessible in 360-degree video for those who have Samsung Gear and Oculus VR headsets. The on-demand performance will also be made available via the MelodyVR app.Marshmello & Kane Brown – One Thing Right

Dillon Francis officially teased his forthcoming Magic is Real mixtape about 2 weeks ago, and we’re absolutely ready for it to drop. With eight tracks following the style of This Mixtape Is Fire from back in 2015, Francis is back on his bullshit and we’re getting the first taste this morning.
Out now is “GO OFF (Nuthin’ 2 It)” with a music video to boot.
Starring Broad City’s John Gemberling, the “GO OFF (Nuthin’ 2 It)” music video follows a lonely, defeated protagonist through a mundane and socially isolated existence of being shunned by all he tries to engage with. But just when all hope seems to be lost, he discovers 3 Easy Steps that change his life forever. With his newfound knowledge that there “Ain’t nuthin’ to it but to do it,” he 1) throws out his right hand, 2) left hand — and last but not least — 3) GOES OFF with a potent, counterclockwise pelvic thrust dance move, no longer bothered by the vengeful scorns of medical patients, diner patrons, doctors, policemen, passers by, airplane pilots, and an endless supply of glaring Dillon Francis cameos.
The first half of Magic Is Real will be released October 2nd and features New Orleans bounce legend Big Freedia and Netherlands DJ/producer duo TV Noise on “Bawdy,” Trinidadian ragga soca artist Bunji Garlin on “Bomboclat (Light It Up),” the hotly anticipated follow up to his 2014 fan favorite “Not Butter” titled “Still Not Butter,” and new single “GO OFF (Nuthin’ 2 It).”
Magic Is Real is out in full on November 15th.

Over the years, Diplo has proven time and time again, he can do it all. Trap, twerk, hip hop — and even, most recently, country. However, his new imprint is all about house music.
The renowned producer is launching his new label, Higher Ground. It’s described as a platform dedicated to showcasing established and up-and-coming talent in house music. Named after his recent deep house-inspired venture, the Higher Ground EP, the label will also feature his own house creations and collaborations.
Diplo says in a statement:
House is where it all came from… Everything we know and love as dance music today started with the masters in Chicago and Detroit almost 40 years ago. The genre has always been incredibly important to me, and Higher Ground is our homage to the legends and opportunity to champion new sounds and artists from around the world pushing the genre forward.
First up, Higher Ground will feature Walker & Royce‘s double-single titled “Rave Grave,” featuring one track with VNSSA. Check back on September 4th as the dynamic house duo breaks in the new imprint.
Other upcoming artists include Born Dirty, DJEFF, SIDEPIECE, Andhim and more.
