Season 3 of Stranger Things is out this Thursday, and you know what that means… that’s right! What So Not has finally, officially dropped his remix of the show’s theme, created by S U R V I V E.
This is one remix that’s been teased out for years, dating back to 2016, not long after the show’s first season aired on Netflix. In recognition, celebration, anticipation — whatever -tion you want to call it — of the show’s third season, What So Not has dropped his remix of the song without warning. He even teased it would be out “soon” all the way back in July 2017.
The sound takes us back to Flume-era What So Not, with wide soundscapes and immersive production that envelopes you and lulls you into a trance-like state. It’s hard to think of anyone who could have given this omnipresent theme a more fitting tribute.
Listen below, and get ready for Stranger Things season 3 in 2 days!

As more time passes after Electric Forest this past weekend, we’re finding more and more gems. We’ve already seen Zeds Dead debut a new track with Deathpact, now we get a taste of Seven Lions premiering a new collaboration between himself, Excision, and Wooli.
All artists involved have been diving deep into collaborations lately, with Wooli having already working with Seven Lions on their track with Trivecta, “Island.” Excision and Seven Lions seemingly have opposing production traits, but the former has gone melodic plenty of times before and the latter can go hard as any of them if the mood strikes.
This new track features some unnamed vocalist and starts off with a drop blending everyone’s styles, pushing the more melodic side. The next drop heavily resembles Wooli’s drop from “Island,” though clearly has some Excision flavor thrown in.
No clue yet when this one will drop, especially as Seven Lions preps for his new psytrance project Abraxis debut at Dreamstate later this year. As soon as we know something, though, we’ll pass it along.

Glastonbury Festival experienced a death of a G4S security team member over the weekend, which has been confirmed by the Avon and Somerset police.
The individual found dead at his festival campsite, inside his tent, was described as a “man in his 60s,” but his identity remains unknown. No cause of death has been revealed, nor the circumstances.
A spokesperson for the G4S security team revealed: “At 5:00 pm on Sunday 30 June, one of our employees was found dead in his tent at Glastonbury Festival, where he had been working as a security officer. The next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with his loved ones at this difficult time.”
Another official statement said: “Officers attended and are satisfied the man’s death is not suspicious. The coroner has been informed.”
The security guard was said to have been working night shifts over the weekend. However, he had reportedly not worked in the 24 hours leading up to his death.
Overall, police and crime reports at Glastonbury were significantly down this year. There were 96 reported crimes, down 42 percent from 2017. There were 13 drug offenses, down 64 percent from 2017.

Last year, Spotify launched a new feature to allow independent artists to upload music directly to the platform. Now, the company has decided to shut down the beta program.
At the end of this month, the streaming service will stop accepting new uploads through Spotify for Artists. In a new release, it outlines how users can migrate their music to other distributors over the next month, to avoid any gaps and keep play counts intact. As it turns out, this is a mandatory step to ensure that your music isn’t completely absent from the platform.
So shit you put on Spotify through Spotify will be removed so you have to put your shit back on Spotify but not through Spotify
— BrohanXoXo (@BrohanXoXo) July 1, 2019
The platform hopes to make the transition as simple as possible for artists. The platform’s preferred artist distributors include CD Baby, Distrokid and EmuBands. More details on how to distribute music here. Also, see FAQs.
They further explain the changes in a statement:
The most impactful way we can improve the experience of delivering music to Spotify for as many artists and labels as possible is to lean into the great work our distribution partners are already doing to serve the artist community. Over the past year, we’ve vastly improved our work with distribution partners to ensure metadata quality, protect artists from infringement, provide their users with instant access to Spotify for Artists, and more.
Artists will need to lock in distribution by July 30th for undisturbed service.
Read the 30-day notice sent out to artists below. So far, most people responding are taking this as a negative experience and a major wall toward sharing their music.
This is 100% the absolute most underhanded, fucked up shit to do to your artists @Spotify

As far as super groups in EDM go, they usually stick to two artists at most. Anti Up is Chris Lake and Chris Lorenzo, Dog Blood is Skrillex and Boys Noize, Silk City is Diplo and Mark Ronson, Duck Sauce is A-Trak and Armand Van Helden, etc., etc. Big Grizmatik, on the other hand, makes use of three of the funkiest artists on the planet, Griz, Big Gigantic, and Gramatik, and they’re teasing a comeback.
The last time a billed Big Grizmatik show happened was in 2016, but now, we could be getting some new dates — or at least one. The tease was started by Big Gigantic on Twitter, quote tweeting a fan and tagging Griz and Gramatik. Gramatik responded with just a video of a screaming gopher.
Griz, on the other hand, responded, “Think @Electric_Forest would let us reunite deep in the forest where we were formed? Only seems right.” Since this year’s Electric Forest just concluded, that would mean next year’s festival, also its 10th anniversary since it started in 2011.
To date, there’s been no music released as Big Grizmatik, though each artist has collaborated with each other in other ways.

Buying secondhand tickets to a show or festival always runs a risk. In the EDM community, we have plenty of official exchange options and, for the most part, honest fans willing to sell or trade. However, buyer beware — any hot ticket has a potential scammer behind it.
That moment when your wristband or barcode fails to scan, your stomach sinks. Being ripped off is a terrible feeling for any music fan. Thankfully, a new Facebook hack demonstrated below makes it easier to identify scalpers and scammers who frequently post on social media to push tickets.
See a suspicious comment? Tap the profile name, search profile, and type “ticket” to see all the associated posts from that given user. In this example video, a thread for DeadRocks VI leads to a profile that has also pushed resale tickets for Louis the Child, Rezz Rocks, Illenium, Alison Wonderland and more. While this method isn’t a 100% accurate way of saying “this person will scam you,” it’s a great first step in identifying a major red flag from a potential seller.
To avoid being scammed, always purchase tickets directly from the artist, venue or promoter. Or, buy from someone you know and trust.

Marshmello is always going a step above and beyond the call of duty — while he could have just released his new album Joytime III in a standard, bland way, he’s giving fans 24 hours to listen to the album before anyone else in his new mobile game titled, Marshmello Music Dance.
The game is released in partnership with Gamejam, a boutique game studio, and The Shalizi Group. The game mechanics resemble Beat Fever or Tap Tap Revenge, as players match on-screen prompts that play along to the music. Marshmello Music Dance includes his biggest hits like “Alone” and “Fly,” and all new titles from Joytime III. Play as Marshmello, Slushii, Jauz, and others, and level up your characters to progress in the game.
“We wanted to release something that was fun and exciting for the Mellogang and this game was just that!” – Moe Shalizi CEO and Founder of The Shalizi Group
“It’s very exciting for Gamejam to be the first game developer ever to partner with an artist well-known like Marshmello to launch an album exclusive for 24 hours within a game which has never been achieved before. That’s why it was important for us to capture those epic moments in Marshmello’s concerts to create a challenging yet rewarding experience around them. We hope that our innovative approach inspires more musicians to follow in Marshmello’s footsteps and bring their music to games.” – Christian Calderon, CEO and Founder at Gamejam
Joytime III officially comes out tomorrow, July 3.

There isn’t anything about Fyre Festival that didn’t end up being a fraud. The artists on the lineup all pulled out and the amenities were anything but… it did end up being the trip of the lifetime for most, but for all the wrong reasons. The island shown in the promotional video which made it a viral sensation was also not the island the festival eventually used. However, that island, Saddle Back Cay, can now be yours.
The island is now on sale for $11.8 million by Bahamas realtor HG Christie. It spans 35 acres, has a protected bay and seven beaches… while Fyre Festival was a particularly egregious sh*t storm, the island itself is almost too perfect. (And, it should be noted, was not ever owned by Pablo Escobar.)
As Forbes suggests, you’d think that anything Fyre-related would be taboo after the bad press it’s gotten. Yet, after both the Netflix and Hulu documentaries, interest in the island skyrocketed.
“I actually had a buyer the next day after it aired”, says listing agent John Christie. “They came down to check it out but it ended up not being right for them.”
So why is it still on sale? It turns out the island is tied to a company — buying one requires purchase of the other. And not every land owner is particularly interested in becoming a business owner.
Get reacquainted with the island in the video which got it famous below.

Tomorrowland is going all out with its 15th anniversary — including a 60-piece orchestra ensemble and two entire performances to go with it. Magical journeys sounded by the Symphony of Unity will be woven into the festival experience, highlighting The Metropole Orchestra‘s own Metropole Academy.
Classical and electronic music are destined to unite and unfold on stage like never before, as Tomorrowland presents the Symphony of Unity over both weekends, coming this July 21st and July 28th. The unique sets promise the all-time and most iconic Tomorrowland anthems, celebrating the festival’s vast musical history into an hour-long spectacle.
Respected conductor Dirk Brossé will lead the Metropole Academy and Symphony of Unity at Tomorrowland. In a press statement, he reveals what the performance means to him:
In my 40-year career I have conducted world-class orchestras in the most prestigious concert halls around the world, from the Royal Albert Hall in London to the Sydney Opera House and the Carnegie Hall in New York, and many more. However, performing at Tomorrowland, the world’s most famous and most original and artistic festival, will undoubtedly be a lifelong highlight.
Classical music including “Tomorrowland Hymn” by renowned composer Hans Zimmer is to be expected, and an overall beautiful, orchestral sound for the ages.

Moody Good is a legend. Zeds Dead are legends. Zeds Dead have a label called Deadbeats. Moody Good releases on Deadbeats. See? It all just makes sense.
But on a real note, Moody Good’s debut release on Deadbeats, “Bite Your Lip,” is an absolute heater. The whole thing is a wild ride in sound design and aesthetic. The hip hop vocals give it a rugged urban feel, whereas the deep bassline and synths take it to the next level electronically.
Check out the single below!

It’s been a huge day for Lil Nas X. His song “Old Town Road” is now the longest running Hot 100 #1 hip-hop single of all time (or is it a country song? We still don’t know), and the song is up for diamond certification, AND, on top of all that, he’s also just come out as gay.
Having already become a major symbol for the hip hop and black community as a trendsetter at only 20 years old, he’s now an icon for the LGBTQ community, as well.
As the NY Times points out, “Old Town Road” has become more than a hit, transcending to become a cultural phenomenon. As its chart and worldwide domination continues, along with the rest of his newly released 7 EP, Lil Nas X could be a massive force for change.
.@LilNasX's "Old Town Road" is now the longest running Hot 100 #1 hip-hop single of all time (13 weeks; passing "Lose Yourself", "Boom Boom Pow" and "See You Again").

.@LilNasX & @billyraycyrus' "Old Town Road" is now eligible for Diamond in US (10,000,000 units: 1.04m digital sales and 1.38b streams),
It is the first song in history to surpass mark of 10m units sold in US while still standing at number one on the Billboard Hot 100.

There were a lot of great moments at Electric Forest this weekend — how could there not be? With so many artists and fans together in such a magical place, it’s quite inevitable. Among them was Zeds Dead’s headlining set on Sunday to close out the festival’s main stage.
During the course of their 90-minute set through songs old and new, they also debuted a new collaboration with Deathpact that could be called “Ready Aim Fire.” It’s a powerful collab that makes heavy use of Deathpact’s midtempo madness with a lot of Zeds Dead sound design and flavor.
No word yet on when this one might be coming out, but we’ll be waiting!

The rollout for the debut Wakaan Festival has been slow and steady since it was first announced last December. In the time since, only the location had been revealed — yesterday, the full lineup was unveiled and its quite literally a group of Wakaan all-stars over time.
Liquid Stranger will play two sets at the festival; it’s only appropriate, after all, as its his label. Other standouts are Rusko, KOAN Sound (playing their only US festival announced so far), LSDREAM, Jantsen, Champagne Drip, Boogie T, and more.
The festival is less than 100 days away, October 3-6. Tickets are still available here!

DJ Sliink, Skrillex, and Wale’s “Saint Laurent” came out August 2017; it’s also somehow one of Skrillex’s most overlooked singles of the time. Now, nearly two years later, mystery producer REVEL is back with a new twist.
REVEL is what happens when you take the chaotic intensity and acid synths of Phuture Doom with the bass house stylings of Drezo, and this remix is a perfect example. It’s vibey and absolutely destined for the blood rave in Blade.

Electric Forest 2019 just wrapped up! While we initially had our reservations about the lineup, many of our readers pointed out artists we’d missed or misinterpreted and it still went down as one of the best festivals of the year so far.
If you weren’t able to attend the festival, there’s really not much to tell you. It wasn’t live streamed and it’s not a festival where too many artists end up sharing their sets (Black Tiger Sex Machine recorded theirs, though), so you’re out of luck for the most part if you’re looking to live vicariously.
That being said, a lad by the name of Cameron LeMaire was able to capture at least three sets from the festival: Whethan, Gramatik, and NGHTMRE B2B SLANDER.
We’ll be updating this post as we find more sets! Check out those three below.

As of today, we’re officially into the second half of 2019 and it’s been a wild year already. In terms of festivals, we’ve already had Coachella, Ultra, EDC, Bonnaroo, Electric Forest, Governors Ball, and others. In terms of releases… well there’s just too many to count.
But when it comes to full LPs from electronic artists, the list becomes a lot more manageable. Many artists have dropped albums already this year, some have pushed their releases back, and others have come out of nowhere with an entire release ready to go.
With half the year behind us and half more to look forward to, we felt it’s time to check in and list off our favorite albums of the year so far. Still to look forward to are albums from Kayzo, DJ Snake, JOYRYDE, Ekali, SebastiAn, and more.
In no particular order…Louis Futon – Way Back When Kill Paris – Galaxies Within Us Karma Fields – BODY RUSH Delta Heavy – Only In Dreams LSD – Labrinth, Sia & Diplo present… LSD James Blake – Assume Form Danger – ORIGINS Sakuraburst – Harpsinger Swindle – No More Normal Griz – Ride Waves

GoodSex is something we should all aspire to, and when we get it, it should make you “Glow.”
Okay, it sort of feels like GoodSex, the project of Joe and Colin, came up with that name specifically for the purpose of creating sentences like that one. But at the same time, you can’t argue that the music doesn’t live up to its namesake.
“Glow” is a like the afterglow you feel after a particularly passionate romp with someone you care about deeply, as opposed to a raunchy one night stand with a stranger from the club. It’s sensual and melodic, emotional and deep, everything you should feel for someone as you become entangled in the moment, losing sense of space and time.
“’Glow’ is about the realization that you are not alone, that there are people out there feeling the same way you are and that together we can grow and heal. One friend may be helping you up one day, and the next you may be helping them up. For me it’s a reminder to be kind to myself and to others. A reminder that we’re all in this together.” – GoodSex
Listen to “Glow” by GoodSex below, and catch GoodSex on the road this summer with their GoodBus, their very own mobile stage hitting major festivals across the US.
The GoodBus is a full-length rear-engine school bus converted into a fully-functional mobile sound stage with a 10,000 watt speaker system, capable of providing sound to hundreds while promoting GoodSex’s mission of healthy living, loving, and being. Having already hit Summer Camp Music Festival, Spring Awakening, and Electric Forest this year, the GoodBus will also make appearances at GRIDLIFE and Burning Man. Find more information on the GoodBus here.

RÜFÜS DU SOL have hit their stride as a group and now have the ability to coast… if they want to. With two successful albums in a row, Bloom and last year’s SOLACE, they’ve reached international star status and continue to push a widely accepted sound and easy listening experience that never tires.
The Australian trio returned to their home this past weekend to record a new mix for the renowned triple j radio station. For an hour, they share some of their favorite tracks from Aussie friends and contemporaries. Best of all, there’s an ID – ID toward the end mixed in with their song “Another Life” that could be one of theirs.
Check out the full mix below for a chill start to your Monday morning.

Say what you will about David Guetta, he still holds a legend status in the dance music community. And even at 51 years old, he’s still putting out tracks every year and touring the world — you can’t say you wouldn’t want to be doing the same thing.
The next three weeks, Guetta will be dropping three huge collaborations with some major names. Though his tweet doesn’t break up the names per collab, a post on Reddit says this is how it’s going down:
Even if you’re not a fan of any of these artists, no matter how you look at it, these are going to be big. Now we just hope that the sound ends up matching the hype…
The first David Guetta track with Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Daddy Yankee, Natti Natasha, and Afro Bros comes out this Friday, July 5.

Last week, allegations on Twitter arose accusing Moonboy of multiple instances of sexual misconduct, including sex with a minor and continuing to have sex with a partner after she fell asleep. In the wake of these allegations, Moonboy’s management, Loko Entertainment, dropped him as a client.
Since then, Moonboy has been silent on social media. Finally, today, he has posted multiple videos on Instagram speaking out about the allegations and their alleged veracity.
With regards to having sex with a minor, the videos shared to social media were clipped from an original video with his 18-year-old girlfriend to give the impression of an act more sexual than it really was.
With regards to the accusation that he continued having sex with a partner after she fell asleep and recorded it, Moonboy says it is a lie. “I’m not gonna try to understand why she’s saying this, I’m just gonna state the facts. I would never have sex or do anything to anyone who was sleeping or wasn’t able to consent in any way. This goes against me as a person, my morals, it goes against everything I stand for.”
Moving forward, Moonboy is cancelling all shows “until I get to the right mental space. Just please give me time.”
You can watch all the videos below, including screenshots of text conversations from the woman who accused him of non-consensual sex after she fell asleep. To date, no police reports have been filed against Moonboy.View this post on Instagram
