Voting for the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs poll is now open. With plenty of current Top 100 DJs already once again campaigning for votes, others have begun to urge their fans to do the opposite. Or, in Illenium’s case, vote for his dog…
Fam. This may be my most important tweet to date. Please DO NOT vote for me in the DJ Mag contest. Instead vote for DJ PeanutDaWeenut, the first world renowned canine dj. (For real, don’t vote for me, it’s stupid)
PeanutDaWeenut could be the next big artist you see on the Top 100. Based on Illenium’s tweet, he already has some fire press photos, has played huge festivals, and has a dope logo.
If you’re on the fence about voting for your favorite DJs, or deciding between any of them… why not Peanut?

Those familiar with LA’s Icon Collective know that its alumni have made serious noise in the world of dance music. Jauz, NGHTMRE, and Slander are just a few of the heavyweights who got their start at Icon. Another more understated notch in their roster is Effin, who recently executed an out-of-the-box remix of the Chris Lake classic, “I Want You.”
Lake is an unequivocal staple in the house music domain, and one of the driving leaders in the genre’s global ascension. But one of the reasons he has found such sweeping success is because his music taps into up-to-the-moment sounds and styles and packages them with more classic, subtle nuance. In his explosive rendition, Effin took those subtleties and put them under his serrated microscope lens.
“I Want You” came out on OWSLA in 2017, and because the Skrillex-headed label features cross-genre categories throughout its prolific catalog, its identity pertains more to an all-encompassing energy from a collective vantage point. Effin harnessed the same energy Lake did for dancefloor cut and morphed it into a heavy-hitting bass tune.

Local forest fires brought Croatia’s Fresh Island Festival to a halt Tuesday morning, as thousands of attendees were forced to evacuate. The cause of the fire is still unclear, though local officials have confirmed the blaze began in a pine forest just a few miles from the beachfront festival on Pag, a northern island along the Adriatic Sea. No injuries have been reported.
Three firefighting planes were dispatched to extinguish the fire, which temporarily consumed nearby roads. Ante Dabo, mayor of the nearby town Novalja, told national radio that nobody had been injured and that the fire was under control.July 15, 2019

The Sunday headlining spots for Tomorrowland have remained open since the full lineup first dropped some time ago, but now the festival has subtly added names to the W1 slot and fans are not having it.
While the possibility of Swedish House Mafia loomed overhead, Tomorrowland has added 3 Are Legend (Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike + Steve Aoki) to the headlining slot the first weekend. In addition, the time for the set has been reduced from 1h30 to just 50 minutes.
In combination with A$AP Rocky’s cancellation, Tomorrowland was forced to make some interesting decisions. Even more interesting that, apart from KSHMR, the festival hasn’t made any formal announcement about the slot.
For the fans, this booking is a loss for the festival. Steve Aoki is playing the main stage on Friday, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike are playing main stage on Saturday, so the choice to combine them comes across as lazy from the fans’ point of view.
There’s still a chance for SHM to close out Weekend 2.
The first weekend of Tomorrowland begins this Friday, July 19.

Rezz' upcoming EP will be released concurrent with a VR listening party via Wave.
Rezz' diehard following has been eagerly anticipating the release of her upcoming EP for months now. Beyond The Senses will arrive on Tuesday, July 23rd, and "Space Mom" will celebrate with a live virtual reality (VR) listening party of all six songs comprising the effort.
The listening party will be hosted by a VR platform called Wave which will broadcast it via YouTube, Facebook and Twitch. In addition, the Wave app itself is available for free download to use via headsets like the Oculus Rift or HTC Vive. Physical listening parties will also take place in Toronto, London, Los Angeles, Denver and New York City at which a limited number of headsets will be provided to attendees.
Rezz (real name Isabelle Rezazadeh) is by no means the first EDM artist to organize a VR listening party alongside their album release. TIM by the late Avicii was premiered via a VR app called Oculus Venues last month.
A new social media post from Diplo has fans wondering if Jack Ü will make a comeback…
The side project between Diplo and Skrillex debuted in 2013 and completely blew up in 2015 with the release of their collaborative album Skrillex and Diplo Present Jack Ü. Songs like “Take Ü There” featuring Kiesza, “Where Are Ü Now” with Justin Bieber and “To Ü” featuring AlunaGeorge became instant staples in the EDM scene. All the while, Diplo and Skrillex took on seemingly every festival known to man with a Jack Ü headline.
Then, suddenly, it all stopped. We’ve heard rumors of a Jack Ü reunion and new music for years, but have yet to see it actually happen. Deep down, we all want it.
That brings us to this new post from Diplo. “Comment a [raised hands emoji] if we should release some more jack ü,” he writes below.
We don’t want to get our hopes up too much, but with nearly 75,000 likes and thousands more comments — the people have spoken.More Jack Ü? View this post on Instagram

It was only a matter of time before international pop icon Lady Gaga made her foray into the beauty industry. Gaga introduced her new beauty brand HAUS LABORATORIES earlier this month on July 9 with the help of electronic producers Boys Noize, Blood Pop, and Tchami. The gender-neutral makeup line launched Monday, July 15 during Amazon‘s Prime Day event, which takes place over two days this year.
Prime members can pre-order the HAUS LABS collection during Prime Day and non-Prime shoppers will have the chance to purchase products later this month. The first units will ship in September. Amazon will be the exclusive global retailer for HAUS LABS. All products are certified-vegan and cruelty-free. Although Gaga teamed up with Amazon for the purposes of making her products as inclusive and accessible as possible, the partnership has seen some backlash by fans who expressed disappointment at Amazon’s working conditions for its employees.
Gaga has used HAUS LABS to send empowering messages to consumers, relaying her own experience with beauty through social media.
“I found the superhero within me by looking in the mirror and seeing who I wanted to be,” says Gaga. “Sometimes beauty doesn’t come naturally from within. But I’m so grateful that makeup inspired a bravery in me I didn’t know I had. I’ve come to accept that I discovered my beauty by having the ability to invent myself and transform. They said I was just weird, but really, I was just Born This Way.”View this post on Instagram
When I was young, I never felt beautiful. And as I struggled to find a sense of both inner and outer beauty, I discovered the power of makeup. I remember watching my mother put her makeup on every morning, basking in the glow of her power to put on her bravest face as the hard working woman she was. I then began to experiment with makeup as a way to make my dreams of being as strong as my mother become true. It was then that I invented Lady Gaga. I found the superhero within me by looking in the mirror and seeing who I wanted to be. Sometimes beauty doesn’t come naturally from within. But I’m so grateful that makeup inspired a bravery in me I didn’t know I had. I’ve come to accept that I discovered my beauty by having the ability to invent myself and transform. They said I was just weird, but really, I was just Born This Way. Love, Lady Gaga

Fresh off the announcement of his compilation LP “Jauz Presents: This Is Off The Deep End”, American DJ and producer Jauz debuts the first single from the LP ‘Don’t Leave Me’ now out via his label Bite This! ‘Don’t Leave Me’ marks the first tech/house single Jauz has ever released as he lends his productions skills to this fiery track.
Jauz dives into the underground with his latest track ‘Don’t Leave Me’, a vibrant tech/house heater that will be setting fire to dance floors across the globe. Filled with funky chord patterns and an atmospheric vocal sample, ‘Don’t Leave Me’ is an intoxicating track infused with Jauz’s signature bumping basslines. ‘Don’t Leave Me’ will be the first single released from Jauz’s upcoming house and tech/house compilation LP “Jauz Presents: This Is Off The Deep End” out on July 26th via Bite This.
A 10-track LP featuring new music from Jauz and a wealth of his contemporaries, This Is Off The Deep End sees the Californian artist take an experimental step into underground electronic music – chiefly house and tech house.
The compilation marks the first Jauz release since his collaboration with UK bass producer Axel Boy on “I Dare You”, and prior remix of Pinkfong’s ‘Baby Shark’. Known as one of the world’s most recognizable children’s songs, Jauz flipped the single into a high-energy, electronic hit. After an onslaught of requests from fans to remix the viral sensation, the Bite This! label boss succumbed to the demands of his fans, premiering the hotly-anticipated ‘Baby Shark’ remix at his Coachella slot earlier this year.Share0Share0Share0Share0

REZZ‘s upcoming Beyond The Senses EP has become one of the most highly anticipated electronic releases of the year. The six-track EP, which already features contributions from Deathpact and Underoath, aims to convey more than just an auditory experience. The star mau5trap recruit is putting forward perhaps her most technically ambitious collection to date, marked by a boundary-pushing virtual reality component to the release. So it only makes sense that the EP’s official listening party would also be hosted in VR, so the masses can join in for a virtual first listen of REZZ’s latest.
In conjunction with The Wave XR and Strangeloop, each track on Beyond The Senses was made alongside a VR counterpart. On July 23, each of the EP’s VR worlds will be brought together for a stream of the concert that all fans are invited to join.
The listening party will go live at 3:00 p.m. PST (6:00 p.m. EST, 11:00 p.m. GMT). The live VR listening party will be available for viewing in virtual reality or via the PC desktop app on Wave, Oculus, or listeners can tune in live via Facebook, Youtube, or Twitch.July 16, 2019
DJ Snake Album “Carte Blanche” Dropping Next Week
Just about two weeks ago, an alleged tracklist for DJ Snake’s rumored forthcoming album made its rounds on Reddit. The album was apparently titled Carte Blanche, and featured collaborations with Zhu, Gashi, Majid Jordan, Bryson Tiller, Zomboy, and “Made in France” with Tchami, Mercer, and Malaa.
Since then, nothing about the album has hit the public… until now. DJ Snake has announced Carte Blanche is dropping July 26. No tracklist or pre-sale information has been given yet, but if the title of the album and release date from the rumors was true, perhaps the tracklist is, as well.
More information on this release will surely follow soon. Until then, get hyped.

Skrillex can’t stay out of the headlines thanks to the sheer volume of music and diverse nature of collaborations he has been releasing as of late. Over the last few weeks, the producer has released music with Ed Sheeran, Ty Dolla $ign, Lykke Li, and TroyBoi. According to a new Instagram post, it would appear Skrillex will not be stopping there.
TroyBoi took to Instagram to announce a new collaboration with the OWSLA boss that will feature Ty Dolla $ign, Lan, and Ludmilla titled “Malokera.” The new collaborative cut comes hot off the heels of Skrillex and TroyBoi’s boisterous “WARLORDZ” joint from earlier this summer. While TroyBoi did not specify a release date, he did note that the track is “coming soon,” giving Skrillex fans their next piece of material to look forward to. This track announcement comes only weeks after news surfaced of TroyBoi’s upcoming EP, PAPI CHULO, which will almost certainly feature “Malokera.”
